[Tip] Windows Vista IE7 image quality

If you use Internet Explorer 7 you may want to disable "Smart Image dithering" under Internet Options | Advanced | Multimedia.

Dithering refers to a process in which the computer figures out how to resize an image to fit a larger or smaller area.

In other words, when you open a picture that is bigger or smaller than the explorer window, Smart Image dithering changes the size of the picture to fit your IE window instead of opening it at it's original size.

Someone knocked over my recycle bin. There are icons all over my desktop.
I'm afraid you've been hacked. The FTP server at 127.0.0.1 has all your personal files. See for yourself; just log in with your normal id.

Kind of like the automatic Image Resize in the old Firefox 1.x?

I am SO glad FF doesn't have it on by default anymore. It was the first thing I disabled whenever I reinstalled.
