[Tip] Logout instead of Restart
Here's something cool. When you are asked to reboot after installing/uninstalling something, what will work most of the time is to log out and log back in. It will save time for you, and is much more convenient.

That's basically restarting explorer, I would restart most of the time because you need to have the new services start and reg entries reload.

Yeh its maily good for installing new software, but for some of the MS updates its better to restart.

Logging out won't work when installing new drivers, either. It's best for games and simple software.
You don't even have to log out; you can simply end the explorer.exe process and start it up again from the task manager. This is also useful for resolving minor crashes. |

Yeah, have very few things run at startup. Also the fewer desktop shortcuts you have the faster it will start up. And keep your drive defragmented.
Also check our BIOS and see if there is an option for "Quick Boot" and if there is enable it.
