[Tip] Keeping your HDD defragged

A program called Diskeeper by Executive Software.
This program overwrites the default windowsXP defrag with its own far superior defragmentation program.

• Boot-time defragment option

• Chose to not defragment certain files/folders

With screensaver mode my computer has remained at 0% average fragmentation over the last 6 months (and no, my computer isnt always on, only about 6-10 hrs/day), and i personaly consider this impressive with the amount of game mods/patches/addons i have been downloading and moving and the number of programs/games that have been reinstalled/remove/installed.

Anything like this for Win 98se? My defrag takes about 9-10 hours. I let it run while I'm at work or asleep.

Hmm cool. I've tried Diskeeper before but never really used it much.

Search for the Windows ME disk defragmenter and put in the WINDOWS/System32 folder. Be sure to delete the 98 defrag first. The ME version is alot faster

Reboot in Safe Mode and run the defrag. Make sure NAV is disabled, it should be in SM along with many other services/apps.

smart scheduling has just saved my *** from buying a new comp because it was so slow

Maybe I have clicked the wrong option, but is this now only a 15 day trial?
