There's not much you can do. It depends on the ISP or host, and even your mail client program. What email client do you use?

No, outlook and outlook express are actually two different programs.

Outlook you get with Microsoft Office, OE you can dld off the net. So it's Outlook Express 6

In OE 6, you can stop attachments from being downloaded. Go to Tools | Options | Security | there's a check for Do not allow attachments.

the option " Do not allow to be saved or opened that could be potentially a virus" had been checked when i went there...which means that it must have been checked by default when i installed WinXP or turned on by default through a winXP update... well my Nortons still picks it up and quarantines them all and then i have to go in and delete them....

is it a major deal that it cant repair any of the viruses that it quarantines? because mine hasnt been able to repair any at all...
