SP2 install problems

I got sp2 from james the other day. I install it, and everything went fine until it finished, and I restarted. When the computer finished restarting nothing came up. I could not even get into my motherboards options. Eventually after restarting 5 times I finally got into my motherboards options. I loaded the optimal defaults, and now atleast it doesnt freeze up initially. But now, my primary hardrive is not being recognized. What do I do?

Wow...sounds nasty. Its possible that SP2 killed your Windows install, but you should be able to see the hardrive in the BIOS

Ok, this is about the strangest thing that has happened to me. I went to my friends house, and picked up my xp cd I left over there, came home poped the cd in and started up the computer. I did not do anything but that, and now everything is back to normal. Sp2 is installed and everything (Btw thanks james, even the 90mb ver would have took me forever to dl), oh well Im not gonna complain I am just glad I didnt have to reformat.

It sounds like installing SP2 is unrelated if you could not get past POST. Some BIOS' have an event log of their own. See if yours does.

Glad you got the CD ok. I put some other misc things on there as well.
