Some webpages wont open ans its not my browser or connection, can anybody help?

Hi,
I recently got my laptop fixed ie cleaned, all viruses removed and new anti virus software installed and since I have gotten it back I have been unable to open certain websites. I type in a certain address and the bar loads halfway but I stay on the same page and nothing happens for about 5 minutes, then it goes to cannot connect to website. I changed the security settings on my browser and nothing changed, I also downloaded a different browser and it stayed the same. I dont think it is my connection either, I have wireless and I have connected using my wireless and another wireless and its still the same. Some of the websites I cant get into are facebook, hotmail, google ( I can go to google but cant get past the first page) and random ones I have tried to go to to find a solution to my problem! Thanks for listening, I hope someone can help.

So its only certain websites that wont load properly.

Might be an idea to check that javascript is enabled, OR, and this might be more the case...

When you say you had it 'cleaned, viruses removed etc' did they tell you exactly what they did? It could also be some of the new anti-virus settings are blocking various sites

Also link a couple of the sites (as long as they are within the posting rules of THQ). It could be a problem with the sites as well. Having a couple of others check them out couldn't hurt and may give us another direction to go in with troubleshooting.

After the original post, I went to facebook, hotmail and google. They opened fine, but I didnt want to say 'worls for me' - that really winds me up
