I have ffdshow and K'Lite codec pack installed. Sometimes ffdshow shows up when I'm playing media player and sometimes it doesn't. I'm wondering if there is a conflict of interest and I should delte the ffdshow.

I'm not sure I would think the answer is no there is not a conflict. K'Lite comes bundled with ffdshow included. But like I said I'm not sure.

I would think ffdshow would only load if it was needed by Media Player - different codecs and containers may or may not need it.

I personally prefer to use the CCCP (Community combined Codec Pack) rather than the K-Lite CP, as, IIRC, the K-Lite CP is supposed to contain a few conflicts with the codecs installed

Thanks,

Sometimes when I try to play through WMP it won't play, so I open Classic and it works fine. Thanks for the tips, I might delete ffshow

Most of the time I use VLC, which is just a media player. I have yet to install any codecs when running videos through it.
