I was just wondering if any one could recommend a good programming language to start learning. So far I have been looking at C and some Batch, but Batch isn't really what I am wanting

Thanks.

You could try Basic, or Delphi (Pascal). Delphi's object-oriented, should be a good starting platform for other languages...

I learned BASIC as my first language. That was a cinch. I had no prior programming knowledge and was able to make fairly decent programs within reading the first couple chapters of a book I bought (Programming for Dummies). Now I'm tinkering with C++ and Perl.

Basic is good to learn for beginners. I took it in college. I remember some, but not most....

I am guessing Basic is the same as Visual Basic? or am I wrong. Well if it is the same, I installed the software for it and was reading one of the SAMS books, and I do agree with how easy it is. 5 chapters within 30 mins.

Thanks for the feedback

Yea, English is a big plus
and yes, there are lots of Basics out there; Visual, Dark, Q, and just plain old Basic.
