RAM question....
I have recently installed some ram i got off of Crucial.com and they said it was compatible...yatta yatta yatta... so I just got it back from Best Buy because I dont want to waste the time and try to do it myself installing it... So I get it back and I run some free RAM free-er thingy and it says I only have 712 ram. I already had 512 and then got 512 more off the internet... which makes me kinda confused/****** off.... any suggestions if this is correct?

What program did you use to find out how much RAM you had?

Its quite possible your machine could only support that ammount. Did you check to see how much ram your machine supported?

I thought about it a while and came to the conclusion that I had 2 ram thingies of 256 each instead of what i believed was one 512... so yeah...

Get your board model and look up the specs on the manufacturers site to see how much it can hold. Sometimes they have a BIOS update that allows the board to utilize the full amount of RAM.

In BIOS i think there is a option for you to enable to have more ram or make the size bigger....
