PSU wattage?

Its been a long while since the last time I've been parts hunting for a PC. I know that 430watts was plenty of juice 4 years ago, but I'm not sure where 430watts stands today.

here is what I am planning to run:

Motherboard: Abit Fatality AN9
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ "Windsor" 3.0ghz Socket AM2
GPU: Sapphire Radeon X1950pro 256MB
Ram: OCZ Reaper 2x 1GB DDR2 800

Those are the main guts, I will be also be powering 2 SATA HDDs, 2 optical drives, a sound card (audigy SE), and other small things like cooling.

I don't know how stupid of a question this sounds like but is 430watts enough for this?

Oh and if you have a better suggestion for any parts, please do tell and explain why. I feel like a newbie again haha.

430 should be more than sufficient-with the new lower power CPU's and chipsets there has actually been a small decline in wattage requirements. As always, make sure you buy from a quality manufacturer and not some fly by night company.

I'm looking at several antec PSUs but I'm not sure which one yet.

If I might make a suggestion, not about the PSU, but about the Graphics Card--I would suggest going with the 512 MB version of the x1950PRO if you're going to want to run next-gen games. It's a nice boost without much added cost.

I'll look into that but so far, I've actually found that the 512MB versions cost a lot more, something like $60 to $70 more.

I actually want more opinions on my motherboard in terms of future upgrade-ability. I want to just do a hot swap on the CPU and PSU if I ever feel the need to.

My current system is pretty hopeless as far as a hotswap upgrade goes. Socket 754 with an AGP slot. I have one of the best 754 CPU's and I probably have the best video card thats still made in AGP. Its a good XP system, but its pretty crippled with vista.

I'm thinking about turning my current PC back to XP.

So far, all my upgrades are only going to cost about $850 shipped. Not bad at all if you ask me. I will be salvaging optical drives from my current system.
