Problems streaming videos in Firefox/IE (purply/greeny)

I think this only applies to when the videos are in wmv format, because other videos I try to stream are totally fine.

When I click on a link to watch a video (for example, if you click on the "Watch first 60 minutes of Supernatural online!" link on the Yahoo front page, it will let you stream the 60 minutes), when the video plays, it plays but all greeny and purply coloured, instead of having the normal colours of the video. I dunno how to explain it better than that - you can actually see the pictures moving, and sometimes make out what's happening, but the colours are green, purple, sometimes blue etc.

Anything I should be doing to change this?

You might need a codec to run it. But I'm not to sure which one...

I am actually about to watch some of that on Yahoo. It is playing fine for me with the default WMP10 codecs. What version are you running? Have you installed any other codecs?

You must be on dial-up? Try going to WMP | Tools | Options | Player | make sure Download automatically is checked for the Codecs. Yahoo states you need WMP, but not which version.

Or you can download the latest version of DivX and obtain the codecs that way...

You don't need to download anything extra. Try installing WMP10.

True, but downloading WMP10 is better over downloading DivX. WMP10, improves vs. 9 and it should work with most videos. If you download, DivX and don't becareful you can also get some spyware.
