Problems installing Fedora Core 4

So last night at da DLP at LPEA (Durango Lan Party, La Plata Electric Association) we were granted internet access again (due to security reasons of shutting down the power to the city, they insatlled a linux box on a different network to be nice to us)(5Mb/s yeah fast!) So I d/led Fedora Core 4 in about 25-40 minutes.

I came home burned the isos to cds, booted up the pc with disk one in. It poped up like any other linux install and asked for me to press enter. So I did. then afer ~2 seconds it pops up with this error, "kernel not syncing" then freezes.

Could this be a bad iso? (I really dont want to dl cd 1 again)

FC4-i386-disc1.iso - is the full .iso name

"<0> Kernel Panic - not syncing: Attempt to kill init!"

I think that is the closest I can come to remembering what it said without writing it down. It still loads some other things but just hangs there

You have the right file, I'm not sure why you are having this issue, I think it's due to the lack of SATA support. Have you tried installing it on your PATA drive?

Another thing you could try is when it's loading, hit a key, and type thq or whatever, and than continue with the install.

oh so "you" think if I type in "thq", all my problems will be solved (they should, shouldnt they, I think so...)? j/k
anyways, it may well be due to my sata drives, but I unpluged them one time to see if it made a diffence, but it didnt, Ill try disableing my sata drive in bios, maybe that will help...

Try interuppting the install / load process by typing something foolish and than manually start the install, sometimes that helps.
