Powerline networking

Anyone have any knowledge of "powerline networking". Can it be bridged to existing ethernet? Is it more or less cost effective than wireless? How about bandwidth and signal degradation?

I've read some on this, and I wasn't able to find much out about how they are going to implement this for business. It sounds more of a solution for home owners.

I haven't read anything on the security side, except that they recommend that you transfer everything encrypted. They have converters to go from Ethernet to electrical (For DSL, cable, etc to the wall) so I'm sure that they will have electrical routers that convert to Ethernet.

So far, I'm not a big fan of this new technology.
