Power Problems!

Hey everyone it's been a while since I've been here. Up here in Ohio we had some really bad storms on Monday morning, and we lost our electricity at 3:30pm. We got it back at 10, but lost it at 10:20. It's now Thursday, and we STILL don't have power! We've been powerless since then...and the weird thing is there are people near us that have electricity! We were lucky that we could borrow a generator from a relative last night, and I'm able to use power from that to charge up my laptop. We don't know when our power will come back, either...:evil:

A few years back in Maine we had a huge ice storm, I forgot the official name for it now. But a lot of people in Central Maine were w/o power for more then 2 weeks. Fortunately my power company only had outages for about 2 or so hours during the whole thing.

Oh yes, the ice storm. I live out in the sticks so of course, we were the ones to lose our power for 2 weeks. It was the most boring time of my life. We cooked soup on the wood stove, lighted our way by flashlights, candles, and lanterns, played cards, read, played in the never ending snow, couldn't go anywhere....ugh.

I think it was just called the ice storm, but oh man was it an ice storm!

here in north jersey we dont have the best of power lines and it used to happen on a regular basis. So i bought a backup generator and since then they must have fixed the lines...LOL


OH WELL.

I'd rather have lost power during Winter than Summer...it was way too hot here the last couple days.

I voted never. But now that I think of it, I have for a day. We had a quake that took out some power lines...

I think I'd rather have snow than an earthquake. From what I can remember, we've had 2 very tiny earthquakes in my area. Both were right around Christmas time.

5 Days... Hurricane Ivan last year... most of the town went with out power for longer.
