Plz help me !!!! very werid problem

I found this computer the other day, it's pretty old with window 95 in it. When i start the computer it ask for a password:mad: , so i try to format it using the boot disk, but it won't let me, instead it ask for the password again. when i enter 3 wrong passwords it says System Halt! I want to format it and install win 98, but i can even start win98 boot disk


plz help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is this prompting at the BIOS or at Windows? If it's at the BIOS, take the case cover off and take the CMOS battery out for an hour or so. That should reset it.

That is the BIOS password, open up the computer, remove the little battery that looks like a big watch battery, wait a minute or two and replace it. This will reset the bios and the bios password, after this you can get to dos/win95 to install your new OS

Is it asking at the BIOS or Windows? Keep the battery out for more then an hour. There may be a switch you need to jumper to reset the BIOS too.
