Hi Terry, Does this happen with all CDs? Is this CD burnt or an original copy?

All Cd's.. Original's or Burnt.. My CD REWriter Drive (E) works .... but not Drive D, i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, and checking if it's enabled, yada, yada, yada, i've noticed it can play VERY few Audio Cd's..before a month ago i never had this problem. if i was to say put "THE SIMS" computer game in, i would hear the disk Running. but it would act as if no disk were in there.
thanks for the speedy post James, Apreciated, but can anyone solve it

So it's not a media issue then. I would think that it may be a bad IDE connecter on the cable- try replacing it. Or make sure that the drive's jumpers are setup properly (master/ slave). Or try taking that drive out and put it in another PC to see if you get the same error.

I had this issue on my old cd-rom drive, turned out there was a lot of crap on the lenses, I used compressed air to blow it out. Maybe this is the case for you too.

dude, one time, on an old PC, i was putting in a CD-Rewriter, i completley broke the pc, so i'm not taking chances with that
.. i was wondering if you've heard about this problem before? or maybe there may be some Fix or a program that "RUNS DISKS" so to speak. |

hey, SwordWielder , sorry about the double post, but double posting is the last thing on my worries at the moment, what do you mean by "compressed air" and how did you "Blow the dust / whatever away from the lense" were would the Lense be? i'd have to open up my pc, right? like i said before i did that before, and broke the pc, i'm not exactly Mr. Handyman

There's not a whole lot you can do to try to fix this if you don't go inside your computer. Just do things step by step or even write down things.
