Hello all
my first post I was givin a 40 gig hd the other day so i have been trying to install it as a secondary master in my Intel P-11 350 512ram Problem is my computer will not recognise it even if i change it to a slave. Have set the bios to auto and auto A local shop tells me it's to big for a P-11 But the person who gave it to me took it out of a P-11 Celron 400 Can some one tell me the limmitations on the HDs with pc's and operating systems |

Hi, what OS do you have? This sort of thing usually depends on the BIOS. What's the model of your motherboard? There's probably a BIOS update for your board that may fix this issue.

Hello James
I used a program called AIDA32 to get the following info then went to the gigabyte site and downloaded what i think is the update with instructions. Just a bit nervous about doing the update incase i screw it up and make it unbootable is that possible Motherboard ID 08/27/1998-i440BX-8671-2A69KG0DC-00 Motherboard Name Gigabyte GA-6BX7(A)/6BXA/6BXC I downloaded the update 6A6BXA from http://www.giga-byte.com/motherboard.../BIOS_list.htm it says it will support 75gig HD Do you recon it is the right one. I dont have the f8 flash comand in my bios so i don't know how it will install the instructions say use the q-flash in the bios but its not there. If that's the right board you have, then the the @Bios utility. I would try using the DOS based flash utility though.
