[SOLVED] SBS2003 AutoUpdate crash

I've recently taken over maintenance of a SBS2003 system. There's no
documentation about how it was set up so I'm feeling my way through its
settings. When I first looked, the AutoUpdate facility was not configured,
so I presumed that no updates had been installed.

Recently it has reported a crash with AutoUpdate.exe. Sending the crash
report to MS produces no information.

The event log goes back to 27 Sep 2007. I took over on 1 May 2009, and
before then there is just one fairly recent event showing the AutoUpdate
crash - on 25 April.

On 5 May I used the MS website to download and install all the current
updates (18 mandatory plus 2 optional), then rebooted. A second check found
no further updates. I then set AutoUpdate to download and prompt for
installation.

The log shows a crash on 14 May, and crashes every day from 27 May (around
2 am)

Google hasn't shown me anything useful.

I've searched for the file AutoUpdate.exe without success, so have not been
able to try replacing it.

Any ideas ...?

TIA
