It doesn't help the simple question, but I run a USB printer off a
Western Digital NAS device connected to the router by ethernet. Both
the NAS and printer are "always on" for my 4 family users. 3 birds,
backup, shared family photos, and printing, one stone. There is some
time delay for 'first page out' as the NAS disc has to spin up from its
powersave resting state, but not a real problem.
