I have some more information about this problem.
In addition to the failures described above: users typically open the
document and print single pages - for example 3 and 4 - using a macro
designed for the purpose. Usually the correct pages appear, but sometimes
not. Even if they are printed correctly, the follwing failure sometimes
occurs.
Then the user opens the print dialog and chooses to print only pages 3 & 4
using the duplex print facility - this single sheet is then filed (it's a
solicitor's office). Sometimes pages other than 3 & 4 are printed. I have
yet to ascertain whether there is a fixed relationship between the page
numbers requested, and the pages that are printed; or whether the problem is
repeatable either on the same computer or on a different computer. It is
known that this problem does affect all users, both W2k and XP computers,
and Word from both Office 2002 and Office 2003.
The common element is likely to be the documents - most have headers and
footers with a logo ....
