Page file probs
I'm having a problem with Windows' paging file. I stumbled on the paging file properties page, and while I made no changes to it whatsoever, when I navigated away from the page it complained something, I don't remember what precisely. So I tried to adjust the settings so that Windows would be happy, and have tried so repeatedly, with no luck. It wants me to reboot, and I do, but once it starts Windows again it complains something about there not being a sufficient page file.
The attached image shows the drive letters on my system. Which drive should be set how? Because I feel like I've tried everything. C is a small 800 mb partition that contains FreeDOS. D is the Windows system partition, 18 GB total, 15 free. E is a data partition, 30 GB. F is another data partition, small. G is the ZIP drive and I is the Flash Card drive for the digicam. Any advice at all would be great, I usually don't mess with these settings at all. I've selected to allow Windows to determine the settings for all drives but it still isn't happy. It's almost as if it just won't take the settings.

Take your RAM amount (384?) and times it by 2 or 2.5 and set your page file to min and max on your partition that does not contain the OS. The others leave as No Paging file.

Tried it, didn't help, unfortunately....still complains that there is no page file or it is too small as Windows starts, and the system is slow.

Does your virtual memory management dialog box still look like the thumbnail above?

It still says you have no space allocated.
When you changed the paramaters, did you click the 'Set' button? |

Yes, I did. And it takes the settings in the sense that after I reboot, the settings are exactly as I set them. But the system isn't recreating the page file, from what I can tell. I can't think of any other reason why the size of the swap file would still be zero.

Have you tried to set the swap to be on a differant partition?

Try as I suggested, put the min and max as the same and set it on another partition.

Yes, I did that. No go...
