Outlook crash

The first time I load Outlook the following message appears and closes the program. The second time it loads fine...

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime LIbrary

Program: C:\PROGRA~1\MICRO~2\Office10\OUTLOOK.EXE

This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more info."

Any idea on what might be causing this??

I am using Windows XP and Office XP Professional on a clean install.

Thanks for any help

Andrew

What was the last thing you installed / removed? Have you tried running a "repair" install of Office?

The last thing i installed was the driver software for our multifunction printer/scanner/fax machine. I think it was running fine before then. I tried running a repair when this problem arose before but it didn't fix it. could it be a conflict with the driver software - if so, how could i resolve that?

Thanks

i've always have these problems with outlook, a reason why i never use it. but my dad once had to use it so i was forced to fix it. i got it working after a fresh install, but i wouldn't suggest you do that since you have some important files.

do the recovery thing other people have suggested.
