Motherboard suggestions?

I just had my MB passaway yesterday and need some suggestions about getting a new one. This will be my first venture into "building my own" and might need some help. The case is a ATX?...well it's big anyway but i was needing something that i can put two DVD /cd burners in a 8-in-1 memorycard reader (it has four bays in front) And the front has mic in/ earphone plug ,two USB ports and a firewire port. the MB in it before didn't have anywhere to plug all the stuff into . I need two HD's also. It has a new thermaltake 430 power supply. I would like to use my 2.0 celeron for now and PC2100 memory till i can upgrade later. ANY help will be greatly appreciated!! I need something fast!!!

Are you just getting a Motherboard or getting a new computer?
If you're getting a new computer, what's your budget for the computer?

No new computer. Just motherboard suggestions. I would like to use my CPU and memory from my old MB on the new one. I see all kids of 400/533/800 boards but not sure if the PS i have is enough for some of the "new" boards. I don't need a gamers computer but somehting i can use to burn DVD's and cd's mostly. Maybe Home movie making. And LOTSA USB PORTS! haha got all kinda stuff i need to plug in. the hardest thing i seem to be trying to find is a a place to plug in my firewire into a mb.
Oh and my buget is about $100-$200 bucks at the most.

The biggest thing you will need to pay attention to is companability, that is to say, you will need to check that the new MB (whichever you choose) will support your RAM, and Proc

Well can you give us the make/model of your old board, I understand it may be a generic board, but some companies make a retail board that is the same that the sell to computer companies (Dell, HP, Gateway).

I don't think you would have to spend much more than 50-100 USD.

It was a Biostar U8668d v7.0. I would like to find something that I can use at least two HD and a 2 DVD burners. I have a old Kocab 18P that i couls use that i can hook up 4 HD and 4 dvd burners but it only has a Anthlon 2000 CPU. But i can't get it to wok for some reason? I know it was working when it was givin to me. I saw it run in my buddies house just before he pulled it out to install his new board. Just how fast a CPU can i use with my 430 watt power supply anyway?

Weird two threads in one :S

Uhm...

@Chris: Biostar is a BIOS company (Basic Input Output system) that runs the motherboard, but its not the make/model of the board. Nearly ALL motherboards these days, (one that would run a 2GHz Celeron 99% will have two IDE slots available)

I dont know what to tell you on the AMD board. We would need a little more info as to what is going on with it. ("Oh doctor I'm in pain, please fix me"; doc needs a little more info)

Lastly, wattage on a psu isnt all that important (dont get me wrong, it is, to a degree) its mainly depends on how many amps you have on certain rails, mostly the 12v.

The kocab has 4 IDE slots on it and that what i was looking for. If theymake them still or did. I'm not past buying a new-to-me CPU for a board if i have too.I think Ive narowwed it down to about 6 on ebay that I have found, IF they don't go for to much anyway. 4 of them i would have to buy a new CPU -memory 4 it.But still no 4 IDE slots like the Kocab.

Chris: I think your PRocessor is an Intel Socket 478 so you chould look for such a board, though most new boards for retail now are LGA 775. Also I assume you are either 400/533 because an Intel P4 of the same clock speed has 800 and usually celerons are below in cache and fsb speed. Anyway I really say your only option for a board that will support PC2100 Ram and Intel 478 at 400/533 will be looking on an auction site such as eBay or start searching online stores like crazy. Most of these boards will come with 4 plus IDE controllers, atleast IDE1 master and slave and IDE2 master and slave.
