I mentioned in a thread about my freelance job at Wembley arena that went out on Sky Sports Extra and Eurosport over Christmas, seems I forgot to shout about it here lol.

The ISCL (International Strongman Champions League) is an international strongman champions league in europe. Although still a minority sport it is gaining popularity very quickly. http://www.strongmancllondon.co.uk/

I was contacted to provide live vision mixing for a huge screen that was erected in Wembley Arena to relay visuals and camera footage to people that perhaps couldn't see the action on the stage floor very well.

This is an image of a projector being setup for the main screen

And this is an image of the stage and you can see the screen I was in charge of

This was my vision mixing desk, which consisted of a pc laptop, my macbook pro, 3 rackmount monitors, an Edirol V8 mixer a sony DV box tons of cable and a comms system for communicating with the lighting desk:

the lighting desk:

I dont have any pics of the event itself as i was busy vision mixing.

One thing I should mention is that a company called LA Muscle was supposed to be handling all this but pulled out with 2 weeks to go. As a solution I was asked to handle all vision mixing and screen setup. All went well.

I was also asked to do the small task of putting together all the footage and making an hours program to be shown on Sky Sports Extra and Eurosport TV. I spent about 2 weeks putting together the program on my macbook pro (so if anyone EVER says a mac is useless I'll point them in the direction of my program)

The ISCL went on TV on Christmas Day at 1pm and 7pm Sky Sports Extra and on New Years Day at 1pm. Not sure when it was on Eurosport but I've heard people in spain watched it too so I'm guessing all went well.

Thanks for reading my lil' story

its not on the ISC website even though I sent them a finished version, methinks they suck at making websites or content available online for themselves.

Are you still interested in directing or has your focus changed? I've always thought you'll make a great director, and look forward to seeing something you've directed in the cinema, and telling people I knew you before you got famous and wouldn't take my calls.

I think about that every time Nick posts something about a new project he is working on. I think it would be pretty cool for someone I know to become famous...Then he could afford to fly to the states and we could have a beer.

Awwwwww, you guys.......

I'm still aiming to do visual stuff, thing about my industry is the variation, one job I might be a director, another job I could be a cameraman or an editor. Long term though, I'd like to be either a Director or Editor. The experience and major kudos I gained on the ISC job has proved priceless.

And no, I wont be flying out to people to have a beer, I'll be sending a jet to pick them up and we chill at my massive camera-shaped mansion

Would have to get the OK from his spokesperson, lawyer, and personal assistant, first.

And I'll be always following him around, stumbling about drunkenly, borrowing money.
