Newb Cleaning Question

Ok so this is newbish, I'm fine with that.

I have to admit I normally need air dust out my comp on a weekly basis but over the last two months or so I didn't . The point is that the air duster won't take off much of the dust resting on the circuit boards. My girl friend got me some non static clothes I thought I could use but she got "pre moistened" ones (alcohol) ... my question ... are they safe to use?

Alcohol will dissipate quickly, unlike water. I know many people that use alcohol to clean off their processors from old thremal grease. Over all I think it would be ok, but I would not take my word for it. If I had a spare running computer I would try it out and tell you, but I dont. :S

Just make sure you have no power. I would suggest unpliggubg the PSU from the mobo since it can store a charge.

Oh, and with the title of the thread, I thought we were going to be cleaning a newb (maybe wifiknight).
