Hey guys, New here!

I have a question about my home network setup, which i just implemented. I have a wireless-g linksys router, new. A Pc running Win XP SP1 & A New Apple Mini which i havent even hooked up yet. Anyways, I Have DSL at home, i know i know, it sucks but
it wasnt my decision, anyways I entered teh PPPoE setting into the Linksys router and cloned my mac address and was able to get connected, Finally. You gusy have no idea about teh issues i was having connecting to the internet. Anyways, now that im finally connected i foudn out that my connection from my router to pc is extremely slow!!! straight from my modem to PC is really fast compaired to my Router to PC. Anyways, i was wondering if anyone had any fixes or ideas of what i can try to get my connecting from my router to PC back to what it should be. Also, I just bout an Apple Mini, to learn alittle bit about apples, do u think ill have any issues getting it hooked up to the internet as well.. And lastly i have XBOX/XBOX Live.. Do you think ill have any issues connecting to Live? Thanks!!!!!

First, install SP2 (disable the Windows Firewall), then check to see if your router has a firmware update from Linksys. Then, disable SSID broadcasting and enable WPA or WEP. Once that is done, I would try changing the default wireless channel to something other then what it is, if you have Auto, try that.

It keeps saying the Key is invalid. Any suggestions? BTW, Whats SSID, WPA, and WEP. Its my first time actually hooking up a router so im kinda new at this. Thanks!

SSID is your Service Set Identifier, it's your ID for your WLAN. By defualt it broadcasts itself so others can pick it up automatiicaly, which is fine if you have some sort of WEP or WPA settings that require a security key and encryption.

First I'd update your firmware and then lock try the suggestions above, along with changing the channel.

Make sure that whatever type of WEP or WPA settings you set in your router, that you add them to your WNIC on XP, as for you Mac... Fenis should be able to help on that.
