need help with screen caps

I want to capture some images from DVDs but I'm having trouble. I do the whole "Print Screen" thing and then paste it into my paint program, and everything shows up except the part where the video is supposed to be--that part is all black. I also tried using Grabby but that does the same thing. I tried it with all three of my DVD viewing programs: RealPlayer, InterVideo WinDVD, and Windows Media Player. But they all do that same thing. Any help or ideas? There must be some way to make screen caps, because everyone does it... I just can't figure it out for the life of me!

I have the same problem, it's due to copyright protection. Some software, like PowerDVD has a builtin capture option. I use that when I want to get a screen shot of a movie.

This question was asked awhile ago, and a program was found to take screen shots. If you search the forums you should be able to find it.
