Need help with FX5600XT

Hey.

I'm having a problem with my graphics card.

First, some specs of my comp

Windows XP PRO
256mb RAM
1ghz AMD Athlon
Gforce FX5600xt 256mb

So when I switched from an MX440 to the fx5600xt, my internet stopped working. My LAN connections were still good (i could access other parts of my network) but the internet did not work. Soon after, my primary hard drive burned out. I switched hard drives, and now my computer is back up and running, but the internet still doesnt work. infact, when i start up the home network wizard, it says it doesnt detect my networking hardware (i have a ethernet card) but the card's power light still goes on. also, i tried installing THESE DRIVERS
and half way through the installation it told me that my graphics card was not compatible with windows xp! it also said that this could cause the internet to stop working, and create other conflicts. i just clicked continue installation and finished installing the drivers. any help would be greatly appreciated because i have to get this computer up and soon.

Thanks

update directX and video drivers from Nvidia. What ethernetcard are you using? does your motherboard have onboard ethernet? Goto control pannel than Network connections to see if your conections are working. Also you may have bumped/dislogged the Ethernet card a little bit when installing the card.
