mp3 player problem

hi! well, i finally joined the rest of the world and got an mp3 player! woohoo!

i put some mp3's on it that i've had for awhile and everything worked great. then i went to walmart.com and purchased/downloaded several more mp3's and put them on the mp3 player. the songs play, but it gives me some message that says something like "in order to continue to play this song, you must sync". what's that mean and how do i do it? i looked through the little 'users guide' and went to thier website and no where does it even mention the word 'sync'. anybody have a clue?

if walmart.com won't let you play the songs on an mp3 player for more than a few days/weeks, what's the point? i will be soooo mad . . .

What's the model of the MP3 player? It may not support DRM'd songs. Check out www.playforsure.com to see if your play is compatible.

i dunno what DRM is, but it came with a software cd that i already ran and the main screen of the software cd said something about 'PlayForSure'. it's the sandisk m230 512mb blue one.

by the way, it's not playing the new mp3's at all.

as always, thanks for your help!

DRM = Digital Rights Management
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Rights_Management

How are you loading these songs to your Mp3 player? You may have to use Windows Media Player (more than likely) version 10.

i was just copying the files and pasting them into the "SanDisk" drive/folder in 'My Computer'.

how do i do it using windows media player? the disk that came with the player did make me install media player 10, so maybe that's the problem . . .

ok so i'm using windows media player to 'sync' the files and it does it perfectly except on wma files. BUT it says it can do wma files so i don't know what it's not working. media player just says 'windows media player has encountered an unknown problem'

Yeah, you have to synchronize the device with WMP for licensed media to play properly. I'm not a huge fan of DRM, but what can ya do.
