It has just been confirmed that "Windows 7" is the new name for the next version of Windows (it was also its codename).

It feel like I've only just upgraded to Vista :eek: Plus, this is based on the Vista core - with some performance improvements.

It's hard to believe we could have a new operating system in just 9 months time, if reports are to be believed. It makes Vista sound like a stop-gap solution!

I still have to try vista, but I still dont want to, what with all the compatability issues I've heard

Yeah I am heartbroken to have had to finally make the switch to Vista but unfortunately you can't buy a laptop nowadays without being forced into it.

I hate it though and if Windows 7 is any better I will be upgrading as soon as possible. I've already looked....there are no XP drivers for my laptop

If windows vista is to windows ME, then windows 7 better be windows 2000.

Lets hope it better then Vista (i run Vista Ultimate on one PC and after chopping out %10 and hacking a good %15 of it i have it running smooth and fast, i hope the boys at M$ labs don't have any more bright ideas like UAC for Windows 7 (bloody annoying pop up asking me do i know what I'm doing !)

Vista SP1 runs great on my PC and laptop...... I don't play games though.

If Windows 7 turns out to be rubbish i will be looking at Linux Mandriver or something .....

Fingers crossed that it's some improvement - the Beta should be out around December time so I hope to have a play with that and see what changes
