Does indexing for Windows Search in Win7 also index pdf files? I'd like to be able to convert some emails from Outlook into PDF format and still have Search index their contents. Is this possible, by default or through some setting? We're talking about official Adobe PDF format via Acrobat Pro, not one of those freebie ones.

Vista does not have a filter for indexing/searching PDF files. Adobe offers an ifilter for that purpose, here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloa...jsp?ftpID=2611 However 64-bit support is apparently sketchy, and the Foxit iflter is generally agreed to be several times faster (and offers an x64 version). That is available here: http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/ifi...ml#downifilter

Yep, I think it can by using the Adobe iFilter:

I've not tested it myself though, so I can't confirm it.
