Keyboard problems with Vista

I have the Logitech LX300 keyboard and I have the latest drivers. My problem is that when I type fluidly, the keyboard seems to randomly enter extraneous characters. From what I've observed, it seems to enter 3 characters simultaneously.

I know for sure that I am not just a horrible typer, as I initially thought. I tried playing arousdnd (okay, "around" is the first times it has happened so far in this possdtd...post is thsdesd second timesd....the is thsde....okay you get the idea, its totally random, it seems to happen more often if I type faster.) anyways, I tried playing around with the keys and found that if I type really fast, something as simple as "the".

For the record, this keyboard is wireless and I've had some weird issue trying to secure the connection.

Man...that is the most times I have ever needed to correct my spelling.

Anyone know how I can fix this issue? Its especially irritating when it happens when I type in passwords...

I've done a virus and spyware/malware scan.

The 2 things that come to mind for troubleshooting...

1) Un-install and re-install the latest drivers

and

2) Get the keyboard closer to the wireless connection point and see if you still have the problem.

I have to say, this is a problem I have never had, but only because I type extremely slow.

I have noticed that sometimes a wireless keyboard (and/or mouse) has a slow response time.

Maybe you just type too fast?

*Edit - Have you used this keyboard without Vista? I would also try that if you have another computer around to narrow it down and see if it is the keyboard or the Vista drivers.

The keyboard worked fine in XP.

I reinstalled the latest driver and it doesn't seem to be happening anymore.

When this happened, I was well within range of the receiver (about a foot and a half). I've tried reconnecting and everything but setpoint just seems to be a broken program/driver.

My bluetooth receiver also wants to use the 'encrypted' bluetooth crap-but any time I used it the keyboard worked like crap. I had really good luck once I disabled the encryption.

The problem with not using the encryption is that it ALWAYS asks me to secure the keyboard when I press any common combination keys, like ctrl+alt+del or ctrl+shift+esc.

My keyboard still seems to be encrypted after the reinstall, and everything is working fine for now so I guess I lucked out.

The problem with not using the encryption is I can sit outside and log everything you type and there is no way of you knowing it.

Passive scanning can read Bluetooth.

I have an old school wireless keyboard. It uses RF, not BT

I also do all of my online transactions on my mac, so the only things you will log from my desktop keyboard would be the passward to log into windows, and a few forum post as well as random combindations of w,a,s,d,f,g,r,spacebar, shift, esc, q, e.

RF's just more annoying because you need to locate the frequency.
