iPod - iTunes question

If I format my drive, how can I re-download my songs that I've purchased? Do I just copy them back from the iPod?

You could do that, but I would recommend copying purchased songs to an external drive before formatting.
If you want to move your library, this might be of some assistance: http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/art...ew-hard-drive/

There's a program out there that actually allows you to grab songs right off of your ipod without itunes. I don't remember the name of it at the moment but I will get back to you if it suddenly hits me.

Ah, so I would be able to copy the songs then if need be... the new iPod Classic has pushed me over the edge, I should be picking it up over the weekend.

Yes, but I would highly recommend that you store your music on a hard drive other than the ipod.

Btw, I remembered what the program was called:

http://www.ipod2computer.com/index.php?SRC=6

I am not quite positive that it runs on the PC because I have it on my Mac but I am pretty sure there is a PC version. Good luck with your transfer!

Of course. You shouldn't see a significant shortening of life span. Of course, if you go over the line into abuse, it will shorten the life spam by a bit. Running, or general workouts won't give it much trouble.

The reason I questioned it was because Apple doesn't seem to have arm bands for the iPod classic.

Don't worry about it. iPods are really solid. Like the hard drives in the macbooks/mac book pros, I think there is an accelerometer that detects sudden shock.

I'm wondering if I should order from apple or wait until CC or BB has them in stock.
