iPod Car Audio

I am looking for a way to get my iPod in my SUV. I have a 1998 Chevy Blazer (4 door, 4 wheel drive) and a Video iPod (5G). I really have 2 options that I can think of. The first is to keep my factory radio and use something like this. My second option is to buy a new CD player. The thing about the second option is, according to Crutchfield's website, I would need to do some serious modifications to my Blazer to get a new CD player to fit.

So, I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the afore mentioned (linked, actually) Peripheral iPod adapter. I have read a few reviews and people have said they are a little quirky. Also, I have used FM Transmitters and I would like something that is a bit higher quality than that, so don't reccommend that.

I havent bought a new deck for my truck yet so I am using a 1/8" jack to tape converter. Works great for the time being. The great thing is it will only set you back about 10 bucks!

The only devices I've used is the tape to CD player conversion ( a special cassette tape with a wire plugging into your CD player or MP3 player) and the FM tuner.

I would say if you want the quality go with the first item you linked to.

This is the CD deck I have in my car which has a USB port... the sound quality is great but, if you have to do some "serious modifications" to your car I would just go with that first option..

Actually I talked to a friend of mine who had the same problem that I have. She said that if you buy a CD player from Best Buy, they will install the player (for free) and also solve any "serious modifications" that I would have to make. So I think sometime later this year, that is what I am gonna do.

Ya I got mine from Best Buy and got free installation, but I did have to pay around $40 for the mounting hardware that was required.

Yeah, that is what I figured. I am willing to do that to get it installed properly, though.
