Taking notes & a stylus

I have PaperPort notes on my iPad 2 and it accepts my finger nail to
write, but when I use an old wooden chop stick sharpened to a point it
is not recognized, no marks are recorded. What is the cause of the
problem? Are there other note taking apps that will accept a stylus?

the ipad has a capacitative touchscreen and you need a conductive
stylus designed for it. there are many options.

Thanks for the information, the options are "Too" many, but I decided to
buy the Targus 2-1 stylus.

It doesn't really "use your fingernail" It's just that when you touch
it with your fingernail, the rest of your finger is close enough to be
detected.
