hotmail problem

hi all, this is my first thread to this forum. hopefully someone has an idea that can help me.about a week and a half ago my hotmail started acting up. during the day it has stopped notifying me when i get a new message. the little box does not pop up and i do not get the notification sound. about 3:30 for some unknown reason it starts to work properly. i called msn and they are not doing any work on their site. its almost like a setting has been changed but i dont believe that there are any settings in the computer for hotmail. if anyone has has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated as it gets annoying having to check my inbox all the time. thanks all

It sounds like there is a setting that tells it what time to check for new mail. I assume you're using MSN Messenger to tell you that you have mail?

are you using the latest version of messenger? if not, then try downloading WLM, windows live messenger, it's going to be replacing MSNM soon anyways, or so i'm told by a certain person called James...
