Forgot Bios password

Yeh as the title says, oops I forgot it. I have tried every password I have ever used and then some. I have tried universial passwords with no luck. Tried flashing my bios, but it was with the same version so I dont know if that would help or not. I tried getting to the CMOS battery but to no avail. Some how I just cant get the back of the laptop off. I have even tried some lame programs that dont work at all.

Its an zv6130us HP laptop with Phoenix bios v2.0.05 (I think, its what the bios flashing utility says)

I have been doing a lot of reading lately and learned about eeprom and that the password could be stored there. Also, on HPs website it say to ship the computer to HP so they can clear the bios password.

Any thoughts?

Oh EDIT: This makes it the challenging part You ready for it? There is no boot off cd-rom.

If you ship it to HP they're just going to take it apart and reset the battery.

You sure you can't take all the screws out and get inside?

Well Goober, if you were smart you would just buy this CD, which will magically solve every computer problem that ever existed! We don't need THQ anymore, this CD will solve everything!

Okay seriously, wifi is right...HP is just going to open the thing up and take out the battery. If you don't want to send the laptop to them, you are going to need to figure out the password or get inside.

Hmmm I think I did miss a screw, dunno how, I remember taking out all the ones I just did again. Uhg its such a long process to get in there. Now Im going to wait 10 minutes to be on the safe side because I dont EVER want to have to open this thing up again. Normaly I would wait 5 minutes for the CMOS battery.

THQ is doomed now!

Like I was saying, I was reading up on this eeprom chip which is more like a flash drive for a camera than it is like RAM where it would require battery power to keep it going and on a lot of laptops they put this modual in to make the laptop more secure. I guess I will find out here in a couple of minutes once I get all the screws back in

What's the model of the laptop? My employer and IT group is HP certified, we have access to certain data others don't.

Yeah the model # would be helpful. I could do some googling and find out a few things if need be.

Well I already said it was a zv6130us or would you want CND547011H?

No matter, it works now. Im just not going to set passwords at 1am anymore. I think it took me all together 40 minutes to take out all the screws, find the battery, the wait, then put all the screws back. Oh and the proc fan isnt running now >.< and I left out a screw some where, but that I can deal with on my own.

Yes, that's what I needed. I'm glad you resolved the problem though.
