ethernet card showing as 1934 connection

Hello everyone.

Two years ago I was using an ethernet card without any problems. I since removed it from my PC. I have now tried using it again, but now my PC believes it to be 1934 firewire net adaptor. /i have tried two network cards, both creating the same problem.

The connection appears as connected with a 400 Mbps connection speed regardless of the ethernet cable present or not.

Uninstalling the driver and restarting the pc only seems to deisable the device (it appears with a red X in device manager).

I am using WIN XP.

Any help is appreciated,
