Dual Booting - Removing Linux and Bootloader

I have a dual boot with Windows and Linux and I am using the Linux bootloader (which is installed to the master boot record). How do I safely/correctly remove linux/bootloader

You have to use a software such as Partition Magic to delete the linux partition and resize the Windows one to take advantage of the newly freed space.

I know how to do that... last time I just nuked the linux partition but it is on the MBR and all I get when booting is something along the lines of "Booting grub" etc... and since the partition is deleted it cannot find anything... making it impossible to get to Windows.

You have to boot into the XP recovery console, theres a specific command that will restore the bootloader. I don't know what it off the top of my head, but if you boot into the recovery console and run 'help' you should get some hints.

What you have to do is:

a) Delete the Linux Partition (ext2, ext3 AND any Linux swap partitions, because you won't be needing them if your moving to Windows completely )

b) Boot into the XP Recovery Console and execute the following command once you get to the XP Recovery Console Command Prompt:

fdisk /mbr

That will reset you Master Boot Record, thus deleting the GRand Unix Bootloader (GRUB). Then you'll get the nice XP Boot screen instead of the OS Selection menu that GRUB shows you every tinme you turn on the computer.

Hope this helps!
