If money is an issue get AMD. I'd recommend a 2500+ which will OC to a 2800
no problems and even a 3200+ with decent cooling (well worth the saving of
almost £300).

Mobo's recommended. Abit NF7-S v2.0 or Asus A7N8X Deluxe.

For me, if money wasn't an issue I'd try getting the fastest possible Intel
and best Intel based Mobo and some sort of Water cooling/freezer based
cooling.

I have a 2500+ Barton with a Abit NF7-S Mobo. The CPU overclocks to 2800+
without any additional cooling.
I have also just rebuilt my other machine using a 2.4c Pentium 4 and a MSI
865PE M/B.
I have just benchmarked them both and they are as near as dammit the same.
The AMD setup was 20% cheaper.
