I tried to book a airport transfer with National Express, it got to the
final stage of processing but borked, I didn't recieve the confirmation
page or an e-ticket by email.

It had gone past the bit where you have entered your card details and it
asks for authorisation where you enter letters from your password. I
would assume as I didn't get a confirmation that it didn't process but
am worried seeing as it got past card details and authorisation.

I have tried contact national express by email but no reply yet, I need
to book this asap.

I thought they may be some web designer knowledgeable types here who may
know the score when it comes to online payments, my gut feeling is that
it hasn't been processed but I don't want to place another order to find
out its a duplicate.

The only way to check is to call NE, and see whether they've issued a
ticket and taken payment.

*Much* less hassle than trying to get refunded if a second try does
turn out to be a second purchase.

Booked it again and recieved a confirmation this time, I presume the
original never made it unless they are in the habit of taking payments
without issuing tickets.

We've just had a similar problem with Dixons. Tried twice, rather
convoluted, got to a bit about printing details and assumed that was it.

Checked with CC company; showed transaction.
Checked after delivery date; Dixons said it hadn't been completed.
Tried again (we never learn!); sma rigamarole.
Checked CC co.; neither transaction gone through.

Found same item, same price on Amazon yesterday; ordered it; delivery
tomorrow. Much less hassle and confirmatory e-mails at each stage.

Shops are much easier (but not £40 more so!).

Nick, you`re starting to post more and more utterly pointless messages, and
it brings to mind other things that happen when this happens. I know I`m
not the only person to have noticed this recently - PLEASE take note and act
accordingly.

Have you checked with your card company?

Nothing to worry about yet, everything is in check but I do take note of
what your saying.
