I need to disable the testing of the Windows Logo when installing software. OS is Windows Server 2003.

How do I do this?

If you're talking about the Windows Key on the keyboard, there's an option in group policy for it.

I think this seems more like the Windows certification verification. I know how disable it in Xp, but I do not have a copy of Server 03 to know if it would be that different.

Yeah - I get the error "This software has not passed the Windows Logo verification. This software will not be installed." (or something along those lines). Do I have to use the Administrator account, or is there a way to disable this system-wide?

Thanks.

Are you talking about Driver Signing? If so, this can be controlled locally or via group policy.

I am trying to install Media Player 10 and I get the error when I am installing - does this count as a driver? Knowing the terminology Windows uses it probably is - do you think Media Player could me meddling with sound drivers and therefore giving errors because it's not signed?

Ah, sorry, the Windows Logo verification deals with validating the softwares authenticity to be installed on Windows XP. WMP10 may give you this error if you do not have SP2 installed.

The only way that I'm aware of is that you need SP2, which means you need a legit copy of Windows XP.
