CSS Public Server for THQ

I was thinking, and would like a lot of peoples in put on this, about renting a CSS server for THQ. This isnt the cheapest thing in the world, and I am still looking at places that would host (currently Nuclear Fallout because I have played on their server(s) many of time). I also think this would create a lot more site traffic and user activity.

So waht do ya'lls think?

If the purpose of this is to get more people on the boards, then I think it would be a bad idea because we would probably attract the wrong crowd here....knowing the CSS gaming community....

If we go on with that and things really get busy here, we may need more mods or something.

So my opinion is that its not a great idea but its not a bad idea.

I agree, Its a good idea for us already here, but If we attract new uses because of this, then it might get a bit silly with gamers who have no respect for people coming in here, and running amock.

If I had broadband, I'd jump at the chance to play with you guys (just thought I'd say that again!)

SO... Good idea for us existing members, but not a good idea if its to attract new members

I vote between 'its a great idea' and 'its a bad idea', so I clicked both

Nothing Personal, but I picked Bad Idea. Here's Why:
1. The forum was built for Computer help as the primary purpose.
2. As mentioned above, do we really need an influx of "yeah, your n00bness got pwn3d!" and other garbage. Not like Zeeg and Feartheterp (You guys are OK in my book), I'm talking about the crazy ones.
3. What about the THQ gamers that play other games? SOCOM, etc.

I'm not saying a public server is a bad idea nor am I saying that having THQ guys playing on the server is a bad idea, but associating the two directly doesn't seem to work out in my head.

I forgot to add that I do play the likes of C+C, but I prefer quick-easy action like halo or css when I get to play it online

As long as I have a Moderator status, and a job that allows me to surf the web for most of 12 hours, this kind of garbage will go away with swiftness and if it were to continue the member would go away with the same swiftness.

Looks like someone has finally found my one pet peeve of forums. Well, that and people that sign up for no other reason than to see how much they can get on the other members nerves.

...Or to advertise. Yes all that.

The ones that advertise are never members, more like passer bys. When someone makes an account to advertise, they get banned as fast as I can type.

I type slow, but that's still fast enough to not even consider them as members.

Now think how hard it would be to keep up when people learn that members have access to a CSS server.

We'd need say 250 Moderators and 50 Team Leaders just to keep up.

I remember being here when some idiot joined and spammed the boards, he did like 20 threads, but with IT topic titles like 'Boost your dial up connections by 200%' I mean for starters, you just know thats cra*

Then I told james, and he was escorted out of the building by an assault team
