[SOLVED] SD or Compact flash, for PDA

Hi all

Having looked around at different forums, I'm undecided what storage card to
purchase for my Ipaq 2210, I'm tending to lean towards compact flash, as I
haven't read as many bad reports on this type of media compared to SD cards,
main purpose of the card will be to store a movie (256mb card), also any
recommendations on brand, sandisk seems a popular brand, any info would be
appreciated

Most of the movies I have are 700MB ish (DVD rips in XVID AVI format). You
may need a bigger one unless your movies are shorter.

Why would you want to watch movies in your PDA ?
Anyway .. 1 DVD can be compressed down to 128mb using a DVD2PDA s/ware [have
a look at handango .. can't rem the exact title]

Will 2 movies be enough ?
I used Sandisk Ultra II SD [10mbps ] and very happy with the speed.
[256 mb AUD 140ish from eBAY]

IMO .. for your ipaq 2210 better use an SD storage and CF I/O devices ...
CF devices are much cheaper than the SD ones, while CF storage .. nearly the
same price as the SD
[upto 256mb that is]

For brand, I'd recommend any of the industry members listed as
supporting the CF group - have a peek at www.compactflash.org.

I went Sandisk 128 for my digital camera and would do so again.

and as a post-script, make sure you know the difference between Type 1
and Type 2, and the interchangeability. Most of the 512 and smaller
on eBay seem to be Type 1 when you ask them.
