Computer Freezing

Ok Im completly irratated now, notice the firey smiliy

I have finaly recieved my new 250 gig drive that should be flawless like my old 160 gig. During the installation process (not for the os, but for programs etc.) my pc froze up on me about 6-8 times. This is kinda odd because my pc was doing this to me before with my old 160 gig drive. I am starting to think that this a horable quadinkydink or my motherboard.

Any thoughts before I buy a new motherboard?

overheating, bad ram, uhh...messed up PF possibly.

i remember you messing with your HSF not too long ago. make sure you recheck them to make sure they are properly seated.

run memtest86 to see if your ram has errors.

format the PF.

I ran memtest a couple months ago and it didnt come up with any errors, but Ill try it again. It shouldnt be my hsf or my proc because it was working fine before hand and still is, it wont run if there is not enough pressure on the proc or if its impropperly seated. PF?

Of course you are the first one to reply... How would have i guessed?

EDIT: I currently do not have time on my hands right now to do a mem test. *points to avatar*

I should be doing my philosophy right now...but I am not...THQ is going to make all of us fail our classes.

Anyway, that sounds like a PSU issue to me...

nah, PSU issues normally end with spontaneous restarts and sometimes hard lock ups. if the type of freezing that he is talking about only has to do with the application freezing, then i its most likely some type of memory error.

but then again i could be horribly wrong. back to my hamlet essay...

ROPHL "hamlet essay" I just finsihed mine a week ago. Yes thq is GOING TO make us fail.

This is like a whole system freeze: apps, mouse, keyboard. I have to press the restart button. No Ctrl+Alt+Del for me
