cmd commands locked?

I dont know what is going on. netstat, and ipconfig is coming back as an unrecognized command. Help or ? doesnt work either. Some commands work. dir, cls, date still work. memor chkdsk doesnt work. What can be going on. Prompt works but doesnt help no matter what I change it to. I tryed the call command it did'nt help, although I'm not real sure how to use the call. I did'nt get any error message about call so I figure I got it right it just did'nt make any difference.

Probably just not in your path anymore-
From the command line type in echo $PATH and tell us what that returns.

That's what I was thinking but I couldn't remember the echo command.

It gives me "echos" the prompt I'm already in.

Sorry, do "echo %PATH%" without the quotes.

I did'nt use the quotes. What I'm saying is it stays in the same path. I have the same prompt. Or you can say nothing happens just starts another line. What I was saying about echoing the prompt is you know echo copys.

If you do the one I put above it will list the contents of your path. The first one I gave you was incorrect-on the command line enter echo %PATH%

c:\program files\quicktime\qtsystem\;c:program files\pinnacle\shared files;c:\program files\pinnacle\shared files\filter

Sorry about that I did'nt even noticed you had switched commands. I thought you thought I was typing in the quotes.

Ok, I see your problem. Its not looking in C:\Windows and C:\Windows\system32\
To fix:
Right click 'My Computer'
Go to Properties, then the Advanced tab
Click Environmental Variables
Scroll down until you see PATH, select it and click Edit
Here you can add the correct folders for it to look in. Mine looks like this:
Code:
%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SystemRoot%\system32\nls;%SystemRoot%\system32\nls\ENGLISH;C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\
