The Children of Hurin
Has anyone read Tolkien's or should I say a colmination of JRR Tolkien and his son's new book "The Children of Hurin"? As you know, I'm a fan of Lord of the Rings and have yet to read this book; what are your opinions on the book?

I have never even heard of it before. I've read the trilogy and Silmarillion, and enjoyed both.
Is this book set in the same world as the other books?

I haven't read it yet either; it's supposed to take place either 1,000 -5,000 years before "The Hobbit" where the Dwarves and Elves were the dominate (at least in numbers) race.

I can't read JRR's son's writings, so I'm likely to pass. The Silmarillion could have been better if JRR wrote it instead of his son filling gaps. I'm glad he tries though. If his writing has improved I may give it a shot.
