case modding

Hey guys, we should have a modding section, might get more people through the doors...

Anywho, back to topic. I'm going to be building a machine PURELY for gaming and LAN parties when I get my next student loan payment through, and I was thinking 'Whats the best case to use?'

1 - Ammo case
2 - old desktop case (modded very much)
3 - some kind of flight case (pelican case)

I have been looking around, and can build a system that sounds good to me for gaming for around £300 ($600~) which includes MB, 3GB Proc, 1GB RAM, and 256MB PCI-E Graphics, dont get me started on names, I cant remember.

I was thinking like an 'atomic' theme, or 'rustic'. What do you all think, as I have a friend who is a manager at a local science discovery centre who has access to LOADS of power tools. He mods things like crazy, and I really want a cool rig for the next LAN

I've seen ammo box cases before and I love them. Not a lot of room though but thats what I would go with.

the main thing is portability - I dont have a car, so I'll have to lug it around on the trains/buses

What about shuttle? I'm not quite sure how monstrous you can make those though. Lian Li has some pretty good small cases. But they are pricey.
