Cannot Uninstall Spybot-Search and Destroy

I get the following message when trying to update Spybot version 1.3,"Listenindex uberschreitet das Maximum (17)". I then attempted to uninstall Spybot and could not do so. I get the following message--The uninstall by file "C\Program Files\Spy-bot Search and Destroy\unins 000.dat" is in a format not recognized by this version of the uninstaller. Cannot uninstall.
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
John

Is that with Spybot's uninstall feature? If not, try that 1st.

If that problem is with Spybot's uninstall feature, try to uninstall it through Add/Remove programs.

Is your system recovering from a serious error? Did you have a virus/spyware installed on your system?
You should be safe installing the newest version over the old version, and then using its uninstaller to remove it.
I suggest that while you have the software installed that you run a full system scan though, to verify that you don't have any nasties lurking in your system.
