i can chosse between:x800pro or 6800gt, but need help

ok, i can either get the x800pro or 6800gt and im not sure which card to get. People tell me that the ATI card is better, then some that the Nvidia card is better, and outranks the ATI card on most of the benchmark tests. So im not totaly sure, so i brought the question here, casue you all see to know very much about computers. So please help me decide, and provide reason why i should get that certain card. Thank you

Get the 6800, in a many benchmarks I've seen it out preforms the x800 pro. I'll try and dig some of the bench marks up for you.

Actually, at the moment, it depends on what you're playing. The 6800's are killing the X800's at Doom3 right now, tho I suspect ATI will respond.

They're both great cards, but I recommend the 6800 as it has a few advantages that the X800 can't deal with at the moment (Pixel Shading 3.0 and speeds).

I am an ATI fan, tho.. Just looks like Nvidia is winning this round for now..

Actually, if you download the newest beta drivers from ATI, the performance in Doom3 goes way up. Apparently there was a change in how some of the programming acted in the video game that crippled ATI's cards. The newest beta drivers attempts to fix the issue, and speeds up the framerate quite a bit.

Josh is right, I have the 4.9s installed and I tweaked my video settings and it has helped with the AA and frame rate.
